Speed governors — hard limits, safer fleets.
A speed governor (speed limiting device, SLD) physically prevents a vehicle from exceeding a set speed by regulating fuel supply. GPSBULL manufactures smart SLDs — GBULL-SLD100 and BG-SLD200 — fitted via pulse line or OBD-II.
How a speed governor works
The device monitors road speed and regulates the fuel supply as the vehicle approaches a pre-set threshold — the vehicle simply cannot be driven faster, regardless of driver input. Unlike an alert-only GPS tracker, an SLD enforces the limit physically.

Why fleets fit speed governors
- Compliance — speed limiting requirements for commercial vehicle categories and permits.
- Safety — removes the possibility of over-speeding on school and staff transport.
- Fuel efficiency — governed fleets burn measurably less fuel.
- Lower insurance premiums — insurers recognise governed fleets’ reduced risk.
Pair with the AIS-140 tracker for a complete compliance fit: tracked, limited, and panic-button equipped.
Manufacturer-direct supply and support

Frequently asked questions
Is a speed governor mandatory for commercial vehicles?
Speed limiting devices are required for various commercial vehicle categories under Indian transport rules, checked at fitness/permit stages; requirements vary by category and state. Call 1800 123 8677 with your vehicle details.
What speed is the governor set to?
Thresholds are pre-set per the applicable rule for your vehicle category and can be customized where regulation allows.
Pulse line or OBD-II — which fitment do I need?
It depends on the vehicle’s fuel system and electronics: GBULL-SLD100 (pulse line) and BG-SLD200 (OBD-II) cover both cases. Our team specifies the right model for your vehicle.
Does a governor save fuel?
Yes — capping top speed reduces high-RPM running, which lowers fuel consumption across a fleet, alongside safety and insurance benefits.
Can I combine it with GPS tracking?
Yes — most fleets fit the speed governor together with a GPSBULL tracker or AIS-140 VLTD so speed is both enforced and logged.
